Abstract
This research paper demonstrates the possibility of controlling the noise-induced collective dynamics of excitable and non-excitable oscillators in the coherent resonance mode by varying the parameters of non-local coupling. Coherent resonance control has been studied numerically using examples of an ensemble of coupled van der Pol oscillators near the saddle-node bifurcation of limit cycles (non-excitable systems) and an ensemble of Fitzhugh-Nagumo oscillators near the Andronov-Hopf bifurcation (excitable systems). Despite the revealed differences in the features of coherent resonance control in the studied systems, in both cases it was found possible to increase the degree of regularity of noise-induced oscillations with increasing communication radius. Non-local coupling is considered as an intermediate option between local and global topologies, which are also discussed in the context of coherent resonance control.
