Abstract

This popular science lecture explores the interaction of light with molecules, as well as nano- and micro-sized particles. Participants will learn why the sky is blue, clouds are white, sunsets and sunrises are red, the sun is yellow, grass and algae are green, and blood is red. They will also learn how a pulse oximeter works and why it's important to monitor your heart rate during exercise.
