Semiconductor lasers - new directions of development and applications: agrobiophotonics and laser medicine

Abstract

A review of the main directions of development of new types of semiconductor lasers and their prospective applications in the field of agrobiophotonics and laser medicine is provided. The main applications are described.
In laser medical technologies: Laser Bioengineering; Laser and Magnetic Laser Therapy; Laser Induced Breakdown Spectrometry (LIBS); Optical Tissue Clearing with Clinical Contrast Agents and Multimodal Imaging; Pulse Wave Velocity Measurement; Cerebral Oximetry; Photoacoustic Tomography.
In agrobiophotonics: Photostimulation of plant and algae growth; Optimization of photosynthetic efficiency in agrosystems; Synthetic biology and engineering; Hybrid biotech platforms; Acceleration of the breeding process; Improvement of planting material.
In the area of optical methods for product quality control: Non-invasive optical sensing:, LIBS; Remote laser weed control.
