Laser-induced graphene on a polyimide film for photothermal skin tumor therapy

Abstract
The production of laser-induced graphene (LIG) by carbonization of polyimide (PI) film via laser treatment is of great interest due to the versatility and ease of synthesis of this multifunctional carbon material. In this study, LIG film structures were obtained by line-by-line scanning of a 355 nm laser engraver beam across the surface of the PI film. The synthesized film carbon material was studied using scanning electron microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. It was shown that the Raman spectra of LIG synthesized by single-line scanning and multi-line scanning differ significantly. It was found that multiple laser scanning of the PI film leads to a decrease in the number of LIG defects, as well as to a decrease in the surface resistance of the synthesized film material. The obtained results will be used to create hybrid LIG-based materials with improved characteristics for low-temperature photothermal therapy of malignant skin tumors.
