Abstract

The optimal spectral and energy parameters of a dual-wavelength laser system for effective vascular sclerotherapy of the skin are discussed, along with optical feedback that allows for control of this system's parameters during vascular treatment. An optical model of the skin has been created to evaluate the dynamics of its absorption, reflection, and transmission spectra depending on the levels of oxy-, deoxy-, and methemoglobin in the blood of the skin vessels. Changes in the reflectance spectra of skin with normal and dilated vessels during laser treatment are studied. As a result of numerical modeling of the operation of a laser medical device for therapeutic effects on subcutaneous vessels, a range of wavelengths of the working radiation was established that is optimal according to two criteria: an increase in the transmittance of the skin, caused by a decrease in the concentration of oxyhemoglobin, with an increase in the concentration of deoxyhemoglobin in the blood of the skin and an increase in the absorption of the blood of the vessel, caused by a decrease in the concentration of deoxyhemoglobin with an increase in the concentration of methemoglobin in the blood of the vessel. The operating algorithm of a dual-wavelength laser system for effective vascular sclerotherapy with an optoelectronic feedback system is discussed. The results of testing a prototype of a dual-wavelength laser system for effective vascular sclerotherapy with an optoelectronic feedback system are reported.

You mentioned that treatment stops immediately if the system detects normal skin. How reliable is the diagnostic signal in distinguishing normal skin from treated tissue in real time, and what is the risk of false positives or false negatives?
