Electronic spectra of non-canonical DNA bases

Abstract

It has been shown that for non-canonical DNA bases and their pairs, the intensity of the long-wavelength absorption band decreases by 23 times compared to the intensity of their canonical forms. Determining the presence of rare tautomeric forms of nucleic acid bases will not only improve the diagnosis of diseases, but also allow for more effective treatment at the genetic level.
