Abstract

Type 1 diabetes mellitus is accompanied by serious microcirculation disorders leading to angiopathy, retinopathy, nephropathy and other complications. In recent years, speckle contrast imaging has attracted the interest of researchers, which makes it possible to noninvasively assess the state of the microcirculatory bed.
To solve this problem, optical brightening agents are used, which temporarily reduce light scattering. Their combination with speckle contrast imaging opens up new possibilities for studying microcirculatory changes in experimental type 1 diabetes, improving image quality and allowing the analysis of vascular changes in the early stages of the disease.
