Spin Wave Propagation in Three-Dimensional Irregular Ferromagnetic Structures

Abstract

This work presents numerical and experimental analysis of spin wave propagation in three-dimensional irregular ferromagnetic structures composed of transversely confined micro-waveguides connected orthogonally both in-plane and out-of-plane. Special attention is paid to the influence of geometry on the dispersion and modal properties of spin waves. Micromagnetic simulations reveal the excitation mechanisms of higher-order magnetostatic spin wave modes in bent waveguide sections. The obtained results can be applied in the development of integrated computing devices based on magnonic principles.
