Abstract

The application of non-destructive methods of digital colorimetry and near-IR spectroscopy (4000–10000 cm-¹) for assessing the quality of tablet forms without opening the blister pack is considered. Colorimetric analysis was performed using a smartphone and a 3D-printed device with installed IR and UV LEDs (850 and 390 nm). The intensity of both the intrinsic luminescence and the diffuse reflectance of IR radiation were used as an analytical signal for fluorescent drugs (fluoroquinolones, some NSAIDs, macrolides), while for non-fluorescent drugs - the diffuse reflectance of IR radiation. The obtained data were processed using chemometric algorithms. A high degree of agreement between the results obtained by digital colorimetry and the data of near-IR spectroscopy is shown in identifying the manufacturer and determining the content of the active substance in tablets.
