Abstract

Knowledge of the dispersion dependences of the refractive indices of optical clarifiers at physiological temperatures is important for solving many problems in biophotonics and biomedicine. In this work, the following lipophilic immersion agents were studied using the Abbe multiwave refractometer: oleic acid, paraffin oil and mineral oil. It was found that the refractive index of all the studied immersion agents decreases with increasing temperature: by 0.4%, 0.35%, and 0.32% for oleic acid, paraffin oil and mineral oil, respectively. Thus, when studying the illumination of optical tissues in vivo, it is necessary to take into account the temperature factor. This study was supported by the RSF grant no. 23-14-00287.
