Abstract
In this paper, we study the conditions for efficient control of complex structures and synchronization effects in multilayer networks using delayed connections using the example of coupled rings of FitzHugh-Nagumo neurons with nonlocal communication inside the ring and multiplexed interlayer communication. Traveling waves with different characteristics and different ring parameters are chosen as initial structures in individual rings. The behavior of interconnected ensembles is studied when introducing and gradually increasing interlayer communication. The effect of delay in interlayer communication is also considered.
