Interactions between chimeras and solitary states in two-layer systems with dynamic interlayer coupling

Abstract
This study investigates the dynamics of a two-layer system consisting of rings of nonlocally coupled Henon-Lozi maps. The control parameters of each layer are selected to establish chimeras in one layer and solitary states in the other. The interlayer coupling is randomly or periodically switched on, introducing dynamic changes over time. The study demonstrates the possibility of synchronizing spatio-temporal structures in the layers and identifies optimal values for the coupling strength and the probability (or period) of activating the interlayer couplings to achieve synchronization.
