Noise Properties of Percolation Systems Near the Percolation Threshold

Leonid A. Kochkurov, Yuri Gagarin State Technical University of Saratov, Saratov, Russia

Abstract

This study focuses on the computer modeling of a dynamic percolation model represented by a random resistor network of nodes. The conductivity of the three-dimensional random resistor network near the percolation threshold was computed using a numerical solution of Kirchhoff's equations for each lattice node. For a fixed total number of unoccupied nodes, certain filled nodes were exchanged with adjacent unoccupied nodes. The spectral density function of the dynamic percolation noise exhibits a Lorentzian power spectrum characterized by a lifetime that reflects the rate of recovery of the lattice.
