Abstract
A linear theory of a traveling wave vacuum amplifier (LBV) with a wide ribbon electron beam operating on plasmon modes has been developed. The dispersion equation for electron waves and the gain per unit length are obtained, taking into account the dissipation in the structure. Dispersion equations are obtained for the dispersion and distribution of the field of surface plasmons in layered structures with conductive films and for beam-enhanced electron waves. It is proposed to use active graphene layers to increase the gain.
