ROUND TABLE: Language as an instrument of knowledge and co-creation with Nature

Abstract

The role of language in describing the picture of the world and the consciousness of its owner is investigated in the range between the claim to "objectivity" of representing the content of an object with the possibility of broadcasting it to any educated subject and understanding language as an individualized instrument of transformation of a person and his environment. Most of the scientific community is inclined to the first extreme position. A different approach to the role of language is given by the texts of spiritual traditions, where, for example, the key formula of the Upanishads "You are That" cannot be directly perceived by everyone as a guide to self-identification with the Creator with a complete change in the usual picture of the world and behavior. Similarly, in the Christian tradition, the apostle Paul says to the Corinthians: "Your bodies are the Temple of the Holy Spirit living in you" (1 Cor. 6:19). It was with Paul, the former Roman legionnaire Saul, who ardently persecuted Christians, that a complete transformation took place after the words of the Lord to him. Bulgakov's thought develops that the language was given to a person in order for the whole universe to speak through him, and his mission is to become its logos. Thus, such a wide range of interpretation and application of the language of description of consciousness and Reality as a whole requires deep and comprehensive study.
