Abstract

One of the brilliant personalities of the 20th century in Soviet Russia was an outstanding scientist, a representative of Russian cosmism - Alexander Leonidovich Chizhevsky. The 21-year-old professor at the Moscow Archaeological Institute formed the basis of the science of heliobiology. The earthly echo of solar storms swept through the fate of the researcher himself. He participated in battles in Galicia in the First World War, where he was wounded and received the St. George Cross of the IV degree. While living in Kaluga, he knew and was friends with K. E. Tsiolkovsky for more than 20 years, discussed his ideas and developments with him. «Chizhevsky's chandelier» hung in Konstantin Eduardovich's office. In the early 20s, he worked as a freelance consultant at the Institute of Physics and Biophysics of the People's Commissariat of Health of the USSR, where he met S. I. Vavilov, then worked as a researcher at the Laboratory of Zoopsychology of the Main Science of the People's Commissariat of the RSFSR, where he studied the effects of aeroions on animals and tested the "chandelier" developed by him. He continued to work and received worldwide recognition after the publication of his work "Epidemic Catastrophes and periodic activity of the Sun", which was "expressed" by his election together with E. Rutherford was the Honorary president at the first International Congress on Biophysics and Space Biology, held in 1939 in New York! He was arrested at the beginning of World War. The difficult 8 years of life in prisons and camps did not break the great scientist! It was in the camp that Alexander Leonidovich established that blood is a strict system of particles that are in a certain interaction with each other, so a new scientific direction in hematology appeared – structural analysis of moving blood. His book "The Earthly Echo of Solar Storms", written by him at the end of his life, was still published, although after 9 years!
