Abstract
A hybrid approach was applied to recover the spatial-temporal correlation response of laser-probed coarse-grained dynamic media (such as, e.g., the evolving liquid foams). This approach is based on the statistical modeling of pathlength distributions of laser radiation in probed media and calculation of the spatial-temporal correlation function of scattered light intensity fluctuations using basic relationships of the diffusing-wave spectroscopy. As the example, the correlation response of the expanding polylactide foam was modeled. The comparison of two approaches to the correlation analysis of intensity fluctuations (event statistics analysis against traditional estimates of the speckle correlation time) is carried out.
