Electromagnetic screens for IR and THz ranges

Abstract

The creation of electromagnetic screens of IR and THz ranges in the form of multilayer metal-dielectric structures to reduce the penetration of this radiation through window glasses is considered. To reduce costs and improve manufacturing technology, it is proposed to use structures made of two metal layers separated by a half-wave SiO2 layer in the optical L-band. To improve the manufacturability, the possibility of performing well-reflecting layers by introducing metal balls with radii of the order of tens of nm is considered.
