Abstract
In this article, we present the emission spectra of wild-type bacterirodopsin in thin films on silicon, recorded in a “pump-probe” configuration, which show that the secondary IR emission stimulated by visible light propagates not only in the direction opposite to the exciting beam, but also in the forward direction. Time-resolved spectra provide information on the dynamics of the process. To excite the IR radiation of bacteriorhodpsin, a continuous light source, a 100 W xenon lamp, and an IR Fourier spectrophotometer were used to register secondary radiation in the mid IR range.
