Abstract
A new description of the sensitivity attenuation with an increase in the scanning depth due to the finite resolution of the OCT spectrometer will be presented. The new description takes into account the finite resolution of the focusing lens, the finite dimensions of the photodetector element, the spot-limited resolution of the diffraction grating. Also the change in spectrometer dispersion value due to the use of a non-equidistance corrector is taken into account. Results of experimental verification of this model will be presented. The results show a good agreement between the theoretical calculation and the experimental data.
