Abstract

This work presents a schematics description and results of detailed study of single-mode optic fiber based dis-tributed acoustic sensor for agricultural needs. The investigation of its working capacity was concentrated onthe ability to detect acoustic vibrations from specific frequency range with temporal and spatial distribution. Asit was lab trials, air was used as a conductive media for acoustic signal instead of soil. A set of equipment usedto create this device required a modification of data acquisition system software, which is also presented here. The proposed sensor has successfully passed the tests, which allows to conclude that it is suitable for agricultureresearch purposes that finally can lead to more efficient farming and some vibration ecology problems solution.
