Abstract

Photodynamic therapy is a relatively gentle and developing method of treatment in oncology, the mechanism of which action is based on the generation of reactive oxygen species. However, hypoxic states of tumors reduce the therapeutic efficacy of photodynamic effects. One of the ways to overcome tissue hypoxia is an ozone therapy. In the study, we have developed an experimental-therapeutic scheme for the combined use of photodynamic effects and medical ozone and assessed its efficacy in the growth of PA carcinoma.

The study was supported by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (project No. 19-02-00667).
