Application of the ninth harmonic generation cell for soft molecule photoionization for time-of-flight mass spectrometry

Abstract

This paper presents a system for generating and detecting VUV at 118 nm. The system consists of a tripling cell (TС) and a detection region. The VUV detector in our cell is a Faraday cup connected to an oscilloscope. Generated VUV light can be used for soft single-photon ionization of hydrocarbon molecules.
