Five mathematical models of sampling process performed by digital image sensor: A comparison

Abstract

In papers on digital holography, mathematical model of sampling performed by digital image sensor is used for analysis and prediction of sampling effects. However there are several critically different variants of such a model, and there is no review which would present, analyze and compare a complete set of all models that exist. The purpose of present research was to find answers to the following questions. How many different mathematical models are there? What are the formulas of these models? Which of these models give correct mathematical description of sampling process performed by digital image sensor?
