Abstract

The report is devoted to confronting the spiritual degradation of society through the development of a pedagogical, humanistically oriented component of the entire educational process, both in schools and in Russian universities. In this connection, according to the authors, the revival of the historically established high ideals and humanistic principles of Russian pedagogy with the imperative of raising the heart over the education of the mind (Pirogov, Lobachevsky, Ushinsky, Sukhomlinsky, Gessen) and an appeal to early Russian educational traditions and ideas is relevant, according to which according to V. Dahl: "Enlightenment by one science, only one mind is one-sided, and does not lead to good." It is in this context that the formulation of the national idea of Russia, based on the indigenous traditions, ideas and principles of its enlightenment, is discussed.
