The relationship between fluctuations of external influences and SID

Ksenia Merkulova, Dmitry E. Postnov, Saratov State University, Saratov, Russia

Abstract

Increasingly, in the modern world, one can find such sleep disturbances as desynchrony (SID), when a person's circadian rhythm is not synchronized with the natural circadian rhythm. In this work, to study this phenomenon, we used a two-process model of the activating system. We set the task to investigate the behavior of the model when sending a signal to the centers of sleep and wakefulness, in which there is no selected rhythm.
The results of the study allow us to draw conclusions about the ways of controlling the regime of the system as a whole and about the factors that can cause desynchronization of circadian rhythms and rhythms of sleep / wakefulness.
