Abstract
In this work, we characterized pollution nanoparticles (PNPs) obtained from direct filtration of air, from bus exhaust and extracted from the lungs of deceased São Paulo citizens and discovered an efficient singlet oxygen generation by these nanoparticles and their effects on human tissues.
