Non-traditional endogenous fluorophores in the human organism, their origin and applications

Abstract
In this talk we will discuss the engogenous chromophores and fluorophores in the human organism, i.e. the fluorophores beyond NAD(P)H, flavins, collagen, aromatic amino acids etc. Namely, the focus will be on heterogenous systems of molecules which appear as the result of biodegradation and oxidative processes and yield quite general yet specific optical properties. The mechanisms of optical properties formation in these systems will be discussed, and their applications for diagnostics, mainly surgery guidance, will be revealed.
