Abstract

Kidney cancer is one of the most common urological malignant diseases with extremely high mortality rate. Anticancer therapy is accompanied by liver damage, caused by the drug accumulation and metabolism. Therefore, the development of the new, more aggressive anticancer drugs also requires the elaboration of side effects reduction methods on healthy tissues and organs. The purpose of the work is to study a promising direction of the drug delivery systems development and methods, directly addressed to the tumor. The efficiency of the polyelectrolyte capsules arterial addressing for the kidney cancer treatment on the renal cell carcinoma orthotopic model is presented. Comparative in vivo and ex vivo results on the biodistribution, accumulation and localization of the drug, administered intravenously and intraarterially, were obtained.
