Going beyond 5G with optics based Terahertz communications: review of wireless versus fiber links and enabling components

Abstract
In this talk, I will present the development of photonics based THz communication system for beyond 5G wireless and fiber links. An example of uncompressed 4K video transmission using the proposed system will be bniefly discussed. Detailed experimental and theoretical results of THz fiber based communication links and the efficient design methodologies will be presented. Finally, the THz integrated circuits and THz fiber based dispersion compensation techniques will be presented.
