Abstract
The study concerns development and implementation of novel optical technique for investigation of optical objects with homogeneous and inhomogeneous distributions of nonlinear refractive index. The method is based on analysis of the probe pulse diffraction pattern generated during its interaction with pump femtosecond pulse inside the investigated sample and its comparison with numerically simulated diffraction patterns. It was demonstrated that this method can be used for evaluation of nonlinear refractive index and its characteristic relaxation time in optically homogeneous objects. Moreover the method allows to detect local inhomogenities of nonlinear refractive index related with glass defects or nanostructures deposited on the glass sample and to estimate their concentration. The proposed method was experimentally and numerically validated on both optically homogeneous and inhomogeneous objects. The reported study was funded by RFBR, project number 19-52-52018.
