Alexander Stoletov: a scientific feat or a myth?

Abstract
The photoelectric effect is included in high school physics curriculum. The main task of the teacher is to give reliable information to students. However, there are numerous discrepancies and misconceptions in the lectures and presentations for high schoolers. The source of these misconceptions is the attribution of later discoveries to the Russian physicist and researcher of the photoelectric effect A.G. Stoletov. This work is dedicated to the real contribution of A.G. Stoletov in the study of the photoelectric effect.
