            Abstract
Distance learning has existed for as long as the Internet access appeared in our lives.
But only in 2020 it has become a crucial and sometimes only available part of student’s education in Russia. Spring 2020 revealed a list of problems both teachers and students faced. But at the same time it opens new opportunities for creativity and initiative. For some people it even becomes a fresh and powerful motivation for learning a foreign language. The gained experience, methods and ideas for development and adaptation of this way of studying at the University are going to be discussed.
