Translation theory for science students: Let's not reinvent the wheel
Darya Tselovalnikova, Saratov State University, Russia
Abstract
Usually science students are taught only practical aspects of English, they are not given lectures on Linguistics nor Translation theory. This leads to certain difficulties when dealing with translation of articles in their field of research, as well as trying to convey their research in English. These difficulties could be avoided if the science students were given some guidelines and a certain amount of theory essential for fulfilling such tasks. In our report we are going to present it along with the sources needed for self-study.
