Abstract

The influence of peripheral vascular tone on the values of retrograde and ante-grade waves recorded by ultra-sound dopplerography was studied. Retrograde and antegrade wave indices were measured before and after three-minute bra-chial artery occlusion. Ultrasound Doppler images were obtained by scanning the arterial bed in the area 5 cm above the elbow bend. Two groups of dobro-volts were examined: group I consisted of unsportsmanlike volunteers 16-19 years old who do not suffer from cardiovascular diseases, and group II consisted of athletes 16-19 years old who have the category of candidate master of sports in rowing on kayaks and canoes and regular intensive training. A comparative analysis of changes in the ultrasound Doppler images of athletes and untrained subjects indicates a significant difference in the indices of retrograde and ante-grade waves. At the same time, immediately after the occlusion was removed, the indices of retrograde and antegrade waves in these groups turned out to be the same.
