Abstract

Based on the numerical adaptation of the skeleton approach of continuous wavelet transform, we present the concept of an oscillatory pattern for complex non-stationary signals. The proposed method allows us to consider how a number of oscillatory components with a smoothly varying frequency and amplitude simultaneously coexist in a signal. One of the natural examples of such signals are recorded signals of brain activity. The use of such methods has significant prospects for the problems of diagnostics of various conditions in biological systems.

We describe how to calculate and evaluate various characteristics for oscillatory patterns. The results of using the proposed method for a model signal of such a complex structure are presented.
