Abstract

We proposed a method for diagnosing the intervals of phase synchronization of the autonomic control loops of the cardiovascular system and modified it to increase sensitivity. The proposed method is based on averaging the values of the instantaneous phase difference in sliding windows and comparing the difference between the averaged values with the threshold value. The sensitivity values of the proposed and modified methods are compared with the previously known method based on the approximation of the instantaneous phase separation in sliding windows. The computational complexity of the methods under consideration was also compared. The comparison showed that the modified method shows similar sensitivity values to the previously known, but is a simpler method in terms of computations.
